THE 9TH LIMMUD GALIL CONFERENCE 2011
"AS THE PILLAR OF FIRE BEFORE THE CAMP"
As in previous years the annual conference of the volunteer organization, Limmud Galil will be held at the Rosh Hanikra Holiday Village on Wednesday and Thursday, December 21-22, 2011 (2nd and 3rd Channuka candles).
This conference will focus on the concept of Fire in Judaism-
The fire of warmth and scorching,
The fire of rites and mundane living,
Its concealed and revealed characteristics,
Its connection to the elements of Wind, Water and Earth
The conference incorporates leading international lecturers and facilitators offering an extensive variety of study sessions:
lectures and academic workshops,
art, music, creative activities, dancing and performances,
study in 'Hevruta" including discussions and commentaries,
body and soul workshops.
The Limmud encounter expresses different aspects of Judaism in general and the Galilee experience in particular. We believe that the variety of activities, the participants and lecturers reflect a trend of multi-dimensional study, accepting all expressions of opinion and belief in Judaism.
The conference is planned and organized by the Limmud Galil activists, who give of their time and energy freely to create an enjoyable learning experience and who come from the three partnership regional councils Maale Yosef, Merom HaGalil and Shlomi.
Limmud Galil is a part of a worldwide group who organize Limmud conferences in their own countries.
